2008 and the Hollywood Elite...I mean DC Elite.. I mean - no he's just a good 'ole boy in a rented red pickup

The 2008 presidential election has the potential of offering up some historic firsts -
1st black president
1st women president
1st former lobbyist president

whoah...hold on there. What was that? First former lobbyist? Can you say Holy Jack Abramoff!! Yes, that's right kiddies. If Fred Thompson becomes president the ties between big business and the white house that ramped up during the Bush administration (Halliburton, Enron, Energy Task force, No Bid Contracts etc..) will be tighter and tighter.

While Fred Thompson was a DC lobbyist...

"He lobbied for a savings-and-loan deregulation bill that helped hasten the industry's collapse and a failed nuclear energy project that cost taxpayers more than a billion dollars.

He also was a lobbyist for deposed Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, who was widely criticized for endorsing "necklacing," the gruesome practice of execution where gasoline-soaked tires are thrown over a person's neck and set ablaze."

What's funny about Thompson is that he's trying to play the role of a Washington outsider and a populist candidate when in reality his freakin' mentor was none other than James (don't count the votes) Baker. Yep he's lookin' out for you kids. Go for it! Vote him in and watch the backroom deals continue.
